Thanks guys. Re-analyzing it I found the issue, it was an older RPM. I went back and got 3.1.1 and rpmbuild'ed it (since it's not in dag's repository - http://dag.wieers.com/packages/spamassassin/ - I emailed him and said "hey, there's el3 but no el4!")
Works good, doesn't seem to show any errors and the xBL's seem to be working good too. I suppose the error should have told me to look at versions, but I thought this was a totally virgin install (I still believe it was) of a 3.0.5 RPM... oh well!
