fair point; can't/won't argue.

just makes it a little tough for the less-well-versed among us to do any sort 
of testing --
ultimately helpful or otherwise ... -- if there's a certain class 'surprises'.  
namely, those
that fire off errors on --lint when we're told/asked to "check with --lint".

but now that i know, i no longer care!  ;-)
