Agreed completely.  I also use a unique email address for each and
every service I give an email address to.  (This is one reason I
accept all emails @menschel.net -- I use a new address for some valid
reason just about every day, and don't want to have to manually add
them all to an "accept" list.)

Staples has never sent an email to any unsubscribed email address of
mine, and nobody else has ever sent an email to the address I gave to
Staples.
