FWIW, here's a snippet of my sa-feedback.pl:

my $fpfolder = 'Public Folders/FP: tagged but not spam';
my $fnfolder = 'Public Folders/FN: spam but not tagged';
...
my $imap = Mail::IMAPClient->new( Server=> 'mail.example.com:143',
User => '*****',
Password => '*****',
Debug => $debug);
...
$imap->select($fnfolder);
my @msgs = $imap->search("ALL");
It's important to make sure that the user you log in as has permission to view
(and delete, if your script deletes) messages in the public folder
