I for one would oppose such a measure at this time anyway. It's a great way of distracting the very limited developer resources SpamAssassin has. I'd rather have them working on stability and accuracy issues, which are much more important than convenience features like this. (and really, IMO, it's not all that much more convenient. Text editors aren't exactly laborious to use.) Really, this would be best implemented as a separate utility. Some kind of configuration-management tool that's a compliment to SA. Putting it into the spamassassin script would bloat spamassassin for no good reason. SA's normal operation has no need to ever write to a config file, so adding it to the main scripts would be adding extra baggage to mail scanning.
