Sounds like network lag/timeouts. I believe someone else suggested it, but
run with -D to get a better idea of what is going on. Razor and DCC, I've
found, tend to be a usual cause for lag. Although doing any network-related
checks puts you at the whim of the Internet/etc.

Razor 2.40 or later is necessary to run with SA 3.0. I'd recommend getting
the latest version (2.67 iirc). More information included in the INSTALL
document.
