Heh. I try to only use RPMs to solve this issue. ;) Installing things manually leaves somewhat random files all over the place, RPMs know what files are what. The thing is that you need to go one way or the other. Mixing the two (such as having Net::DNS installed via RPM then trying to upgrade via CPAN) is a recipe for disaster. I'd just build a new Net::DNS RPM and install that.
