If you do a sa-learn --help, it says one of the options is -u username

But anyway, it does not seem to work.

I ended up using the bayes_path switch (recommended by another list user!)
in local.cf, and it works. I can now run sa-learn from root and it will
access the spamd files

No, -u does not work with sa-learn. It is not in the docs, and never has
been.


However, you can add the --dbpath parameter to sa-learn's command line to 
work on a specific bayes DB... However, you may need to chown it back to 
being owned by spamd when you are done.
