Got it. I know everyone's probably rapidly tiring of me carrying on, but this particular little hurdle could be solved by making 2.70 and upping the minimum perl? I suspect that would be a lot more readily palatable to 2.64 users than the jump to 3.0. [license explanation snipped - thanks].
