I've been over-ruled by those who pay the bills, so I can't use SpamAssassin since it's "open source"
Anyone else not surprised, but completely aggravated by this statement? They are most likely going to go pay for a package that is SA in the background anyway.

Good luck indeed. All i can say is when i installed an anti-spam program on our email server and my bosses inbox was spam free they were delighted beyond belief. When i told them it was all free they nearly fell over. I got a raise 3 days later.
Maybe you should be looking for another job ;)
