I don’t know whether this is related to your issue; but I thought I would offer it in case it were to be relevant
We have users who were setup in security.json to be able to RELOAD their own collection, but were disallowed from making other admin/collection API calls When we upgraded to Sol9.2, the were no longer able to RELOAD collection in the GUI: I think they may have seen a red-circle-&-slash NOT symbol The solution was to add collection-admin-edit into security.json, far enough down the list that it did not inadvertently grant too much privilege Feel free to check these two links https://solr.apache.org/guide/6_6/rule-based-authorization-plugin.html#Rule-BasedAuthorizationPlugin-PredefinedPermissions https://lists.apache.org/thread/mkg3ob5zldf2dolq533kc1blpqn2j8mt From: Chris Fairbanks <christopher_fairba...@yahoo.com.INVALID> Sent: Sunday, February 9, 2025 9:14 PM To: users@solr.apache.org Subject: [EXTERNAL] Solr question Hey everyone, looking for any guidance you can provide. I have been running a single instance of Solr 7.x for a few years on an Ubuntu 22.04 box to provide FTS to a Dovecot server. It was working great but I needed to upgrade to Ubuntu 24.04 for a number of reasons and when I did that I upgraded Dovecot and upgraded Solr to 9.8.0. I used the Dovecot Solr 9.0 config and scheme, in addition to deleting the existing Solr collection before running a full reindex. It seemed to reindex fine but I am getting a red circle with a line through it for the current status. I don't remember how Solr 7.x looked under the collection overview section but with 9.8.0 it has a Replication Section for Leader Searching and Leader Replicable even though this is a single server instance. They are always a few Gen out of sync of each other even though FTS through Dovecot seems to be working great with responses <2 seconds. Is this something cosmetic or did I screw up something. I have been trying to search for ideas on what I may have done wrong including searching on this list but I could not find anything. Any pointers you can share would be greatly appreciated.
