1)In CentOS v Ubuntu is Ubuntu considered a better linux OS than

It's very personal opinion of everybody.
Someone likes better the CentOS than Ubuntu, but others not.
My opinion is: we need the the best tool for the actual activity. When I
want to play, choose the CentOS, and other time - when I want to work in
productive environment - choose Ubuntu.
Don't distwar please, I'm just joking ;)
2)Can the script be modified to install on CentOS or is it going to be
too much of a mission?
Yes, it can. But not by me. If othe one can do it, just feel free to do
it - and send it me for put it out the site.

Yes, it has answered already, and NO is not available only Ubuntu
server - and tested on Ubuntu LTS 12.04.2.
Sorry, I don't use CentOS/RHEL/SuSE, so I can't fork and test the
script. :(
