I'm pretty sure you can't disable hardware virtualization on a vm basis. Btw, does FreeBSD boot if you use an IDE disk and e1000 NIC (did go quickly through the proxmox forum thread and issues seem to be virtio related)? This will decrease performance for sure, but maybe it's sufficient. My Solaris vms are for compiling and Puppet module tests, so IDE and e1000 emulated devices are fine for me.
