Based on KVM docs: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status#FreeBSD you should use e1000 NIC to begin with.
There are several known issues with amd64: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/5558/freebsd-amd64-kvm-troubleshooting http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/11843-Proxmox-2-2-Freebsd-8-3-AMD64-freezes-can-not-start-installation So I'd go with disabling anything you can, and try a very basic boot at first.
