systemd inside of containers works fine and has for years.  Fedora switched to 
systemd with the release of Fedora 15 in 2011.  I'm don't recall exactly when 
OpenVZ started supporting systemd inside of a container but it has been a 
while.  Another milestone in the systemd-used-inside-of-containers was the 
release of the CentOS 7 OS Template... and then quite later, Debian 8.

Running a container with systemd isn't a problem.  Running a 2.6.32-based 
OpenVZ kernel on the hostnode running systemd is the problem... and one of the 
things that Virtuozzo 7 addresses.
