Hi Don, You might try downloading LibreOffice (www.libreoffice.org) and see if the same problem occurs. It's free. I use LO as my primary spreadsheet/word processor, but occasionally use OOWriter and don't have the problem you describe. I'm also running IOs 10.13.2, but using OO version 4.1.5. If you can open the file with LO and don't see the same problem, try saving it (it also uses .ods format) and try opening with OO again. Hope this helps, Leon
