You will know that OpenOffice is a free product, so there will be no funding for support and that consequently there can be no support. There is no "customer service". You wrote to a mailing list which, as its name ("Users") suggests, is composed mainly of users of OpenOffice - just like you and me. So you were not writing to OpenOffice itself and any replies you may receive will not be authoritative.
