If you use Windows and you install Apache Open Office, the program will show up in your Windows Start Menu, under Programs. The program does not "uninstall it by itself". It should stay installed until you manually remove it from "Add/Remove programs" under Control Panel. If you fail to see the programt, do this to check the app is still present on your system: Go to the Windows Start menu Select the option "Run..." On the entry box that comes up, type exactly this: appwiz.cpl and press [enter] This will bring the Windows "add and remove programs" You should see an alphabetically-sorted list of applications in your system. Scroll down the list until you reach the entries beginning with the letter O... right there you should see "OpenOffice 4.1.1". Please do this and get back to us telling us if you indeed see the program listed there. And next time you see it "disappearing". Repeat this procedure and see if the app is still listed there. Maybe it's just the desktop shortcut that gets erased from your system (by you inadvertedly or by other user of the same system). But it doesn't mean you need to reinstall the app. The app will continue to be there. I hope this helps.
