Correct, there is no image. Nor is there any indication that something
is missing. I only new something was missing when I opened the
documents in question in the Word 2010.
As for the other, I tried .doc, .html, .xml formats for saving the
documents. They all failed. Also, the clients got warnings of
security. I had to make help files for them about that.
The only success I have had is saving as .odt and opening in Word 2010.
But, it isn't pretty and I would be afraid to send that off to a client.
I could do this work in Word on my old clunky laptop, but I hate it.
You all know why!
Thank you!

OH! I forgot to say that I tried saving it as .html and .xml, both
failed because the comments were either deleted or displayed amongst
the rest of the text as if it had been typed in there.
Try to save it as a DOC file, and see if that helps.
I also forgot to say that images included in the Word 2010 documents
do not show up in Writer.
So a document created in MSO 2010 with an image does not contain the
image when opened in AOO? It may be related to how that image is
anchored, or, if that image is contained inside of a frame (but that
is all speculation).
