When we converted our files from a Windows 7 machine to a new Windows 8.0 machine, it changed some files to a 'wps' format. Windows 8 wants to open them with Notepad. When I try with Open Office the ascii filter comes up with Euro Western. Either way all I get is gobblygook characters. Can anyone suggest a way to open wps files and tell me what format to use when saving them so that Open Office can then open the files.
