I don't know for sure, but I don't think that anyone has tried building with mingw.

Native Windows compiler support is available on the Open MPI development trunk; it should be coming to a real release soon.

I would like to know if is possible to compile openmpi using msys- mingw I have seen in the mailing list archives that some people have tried to compile it with cygwin but It's not clear if they have succeeded.
I have tried to compile using a simple
./configure
make
but it fails with some redeclarations of time structures etc...
I just wanted to know if there are any special flags or configuration for mingw compilation before start looking at the code.
thanks in advance
