[OMPI users] mingw

I would like to know if is possible to compile openmpi using msys-mingw
I have seen in the mailing list archives that some people have tried to compile 
it with cygwin but It's not clear if they have succeeded. 
I have tried to compile using a simple 
./configure 
make 
but it fails with some redeclarations of time structures etc...
I just wanted to know if there are any special flags or configuration for mingw 
compilation before start looking at the code.
