No $$$ out of pocket but what about your wasted time? Dell should be glad you don't charge them for that.

    I hope that you have some sort of record that the Dell tech told
    you that the heat sink wasn't important.  If he tries to charge
    you anything for the repairs, you should take this to Dell, and
    that record will keep it from being simply your word against his.


Fortunately this is all covered under warranty so nothing is coming out of my pocket. I hate to have to pay for all this work.
