Why is it that every time a useful Java based application is mentioned
someone feels the need to jump in, destroy the magic moment, and mention a
non-java one, as if by trying and running a useful Java based application, a
grave sin is commited against GNU/Linux?. ;-P

Java Web Start is my favorite hidden trick. Just with a handful of links /
bookmarks on browser toolbars I have access to many useful apps I need,
regardless of OS. Which, IMHO, is the way all userland software should be
(cross platform).

(no need to reply, just speaking aloud to myself). ;-)
