Edit the grub entry to remove "quiet rhgb", then see what the last
messages are when it gets stuck.

Will do, if you tell me how to get into the GRUB entry editor to make
that change, or any other change. Thank you for your quick response
thus far.
If you want the change made permanently, then do the following, which
I think requires you to be root (please, one of the many list members
more expert than me: please confirm or correct all this!):
1. Edit the file "/etc/default/grub"; comment out ("# " at the
beginning of the line) or delete the line containing "rhgb quiet".
2. Then run "grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg".
Re-boot to test.
I did the above last month on my F-42 desktop; it worked.
Otherwise, see this on-line thread:
That thread is at least 3 years old, so I cannot guarantee that it's
still valid.
...useless if the boot never reached a login screen.
My apologies.
Thank-you, Samuel and Joe, for correcting.
