Are the options for filter messages in *all* folders? As opposed to
just the inbox.

NB: I don't *use* Thunderbird, I occasionally look at it and had it
installed on some PCs.

I switch off junk mail filtering on my mail clients, it's a pain. Too
many false positives and negatives. I don't want to lose real mail, I
don't want to check a spam folder (if I'm checking that, why bother to
move them to a different folder?).

I just kept my email addresses as private as can be, and only get about
2 spams a day. Easy enough to just hit delete on them, and far less
effort than dealing with crappy filtering.

I will only get to see the messages that are posted to the mailing list.
