I could easily do that, but when I go to this upgrade
again, the same thing will happen and I need to learn
how to deal with it.  Love dump/restore and clonezilla.

It better not happen again. The only time I've had situations like this was due to a hardware issue of some sort (including laptop battery dying). The Fedora release upgrade process has always been solid.
