You might want to boot from a LiveUSB and running it while the partition isn't
mounted to make sure there aren't any problems there.
LVM is not a file system, just a logical volume manager (hence the initials),
which provides logical volumes upon which a file system is written. So you’d
run the traditional fsck program once the volumes have been assembled.
Yes, I know what LVM is, although I don't use it. In any case, you
can't run fsck when the volume is mounted, and as that LVM contains
root, the best bet is to boot from a LiveUSB and then run fsck.
