Yes.....  Your mount command is incorrect.

You have an entry in the fstab.  I set up my system to demonstrate......

This is "wrong".

[root@meimei etc]# mount //192.168.1.1/myUSB/ /media/smb
Password for root@//192.168.1.1/myUSB/:
mount error(13): Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) and kernel log 
messages (dmesg)

This is "right"

[root@meimei etc]# mount /media/smb
[root@meimei etc]#

[root@meimei etc]# df -t cifs
Filesystem           1K-blocks    Used Available Use% Mounted on
//192.168.1.1/myUSB/ 120686752 1107456 119579296   1% /media/smb
