I resurrected an F30 GNOME only VM. I then used the GNOME System Upgrade
Method to upgrade
to F32.
Before Upgrade
[egreshko@f30g ~]$ cat Before-Upgrade
kernel-5.5.8-100.fc30.x86_64
kernel-5.5.10-100.fc30.x86_64
kernel-5.6.8-100.fc30.x86_64
After Upgrade
[egreshko@f30g ~]$ cat After-Upgrade
kernel-5.5.8-100.fc30.x86_64
kernel-5.5.10-100.fc30.x86_64
kernel-5.6.8-100.fc30.x86_64
kernel-5.6.10-300.fc32.x86_64
So, we can see that the GNOME Method will leave an extra kernel, unlike using
dnf system-upgrade.
Does that mean that PackageKit doesn't respect the install_only setting
during a system upgrade? Sounds like a bug. I wonder if there are
other settings it neglects then as well.
