I've used these for years simply because I like them better, but after a long time (a few years at least) I see little crumbs of the hard rubber-like material the wheel is made of accumulating in the ball socket. I have to take the ball out and bang the mouse on the table to get the pile of rubber crumbs out till the next time. I already bought a replacement to use if this one stops working completely.
