One other small test..... When you boot and get the blank screen. If you do "Ctrl-Alt-F2" and then login in text mode if you do "sudo systemctl restart sddm" will you have the login display when you switch back? -- Conjecture is just a conclusion based on incomplete information. It isn't a fact.
