I went through and individually removed all gnome things. And what do you know, of course there was a hidden dep in the list for that damned GDM. So a sudo dnf list installed | grep gdm returned zilch! So reinstalling gdm* put almost all of it back! What the hell! I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I can't get any other DM to work and my journalctl is FULL of BS errors related to Gnome crap that I dont even use.
