UPDATE: running:
[root@localhost ~]# dictd works great and I can access the wordnet dictionary through xfce's dictionary reader, so there's a problem with starting it with systemctl. Anyway, I don't want to take up more of the groups time. Thanks everyone and I'll figure it out one way or another :-) Steve
