Are you really sure? I've never seen a keyboard without a numlock key,
but sometimes it's somewhat hidden. But besides that, I think the
numlock state is global, so as Rick suggested, try turning on the
numlock on the laptop keyboard. However, be aware that turning on
numlock will probably mess up your laptop keyboard as they usually have
the number pad overlaying the right side of the keyboard.
