UG states: "This is considered as active throttling." - but below there 
is table *6-2* where in cimd2 there is:
"Can use throttling: n"

So that is why I was asking if kannel implements its own throttling or 
needs smsc which supports this option.

Thanks for reply but this problem is more complicated because it is not
the problem of long queue, but my smsc provider who accepts all
messages, but when there is more thanv15 msg/sec he sends me back that
delivery fails. That is why I need to limit  throughput on kannel or
application level.

I was wondering if kannel can help me with this problem.

What I ended up doing is writing a world accessible page, that turned
around and hit the internal admin interface and get a status report and

who's sending the msg's can get some visibility into kannel's queue's
and can stop sending if the queue gets to high.

illustrate, so there may be a much better way to talk to kannel, but
that quick and easy hack worked for me.

The kannel interface url to get the status is:
