I liked OS/2 when I was using it. If I remember correctly I purchased a copy of version 1.2 really cheap about the time Warp3 was coming out. It included DB2 and a bunch of development tools and I was able to upgrade to Warp for free.  I can't remember exactly what I did but I would periodicity get a bunch of cd's with all kinds of interesting stuff on them. Redbooks, updates, etc. I kept using it through the eComStation days but finally it got just to hard to use it anymore so I switched to linux.

I bought v1.3 at a computer show and the deal was I'd get 2.0 when it came out for $1.  I don't recall ever paying that $1 though.  I started at IBM about 5 years later and was on the distribution lists for various products.  I'd get OS/2, Windows, DOS, Lotus Notes, DB2 and Linux CDs, along with others I had no idea about.  When I left, I walked out with a big box of CDs.  🙂

I also had access to Redbooks and other info.  I switched to Linux around the time eComStation came out.
