Hi Laurie,
Depending on the old version, you need to double check the activemq.xml
configuration file to see if there is some new or deprecated items.
And also use minimum JRE version according to the download page
(https://activemq.apache.org/components/classic/download/), in your case
for 6.1.8 you need a JRE 17 min.
What is the old version?
