The analogy is so wrong, and so self-serving. You are batting 1000. The analogy is as if you volunteered and then, due to the fact that you were cute and promised to behave the way they wanted, the board of directors elected you to the head of the finance committee, which you accepted. Now are you just a volunteer? Well, if you handle it the way you do your responsibilities with Struts, I guess so.
