This is a great idea, I like it.
+1 for doing this in Europe, also less risky these days given the
geopolitical context.
Half a day is probably too short given the breadth of topics. Though, of
course, the longer the more difficult to organize (and the more expensive).

Regarding our activity on the project and the adoption of Apache
Arrow, I would like to start a discussion about an Apache Arrow
Meetup, gathering contributors, users and enthusiasts about Arrow
generally speaking.
The idea is to have a community event, where a Selection Committee
(selected by the Arrow PMC) will be in charge of the content, and we
can look for sponsors for funding and/or hosting.
For the format, I would propose a half day (maybe a day ?) in person.
The purpose is to get together and host talks to share content about:
- developers/contributors perspective on the project, roadmap on

languages/gandiva/JNI, datafusion even if datafusion is not in Arrow

- share integrator use cases, sharing experience about using Arrow in
products, pros/cons

For the logistics, I would propose to host this Meetup in Europe, as
it would be "central" for our contributors (between North America and
Asia).
Thoughts ?
