Yes, I fondly remember the time where you could run such a kind of wiki
as well.  The truth is Ant's wiki has been like this until about four
month ago.  By then we had about five times more spam to remove than
regular content contributed.

In the past we tried blacklist, captchas and forced people to create
accounts and log in - nothing worked, the page rank of *.apache.org is
way too high so spammers are willing to have real people create pages
rather than machines.

That being said, the wiki is open for anybody to contribute who joins
one of the mailing lists and asks for write access.  I'll try to clarify
this on the front page.

If you have created an account, just let me know what it is and I'll be
happy to add it to the list of accounts allowed to edit the Wiki.
