The problem with this idea is that a »real« X server expects to talk to 
graphics hardware of some description. VMware & co. solve this problem by 
actually emulating the registers etc. of a suitable graphics chip, but UML 
doesn't really deal in hardware; all it does is to present a Linux system call 
interface.

I suspect the nearest thing to a »real« X server on UML would be something 
like Xvnc, which gives you a desktop-type X session that you can connect to 
using a VNC client.
