Is it possible to run a 32bit guest on a 64bit host?
Specifically I would like to run a 32bit i386 RedHat 7.3 Guest on a 64bit host running the x86_64 version of Fedora8. I downloaded the files suggested at :- http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/new/ Specifically http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/new/linux-2.6.22-rc2.bz2 and http://uml.nagafix.co.uk/FedoraCore5/FedoraCore5-x86-root_fs.bz2 This runs through the boot up sequence for the guest but gets init errors rather than giving a login prompt. INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes adding a ssl=port:9000 option and trying to telnet to the guest on port 9000 Gives :- Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to 127.0.0.1. Escape character is '^]'. helper_child - execvp of '/usr/sbin/in.telnetd' failed - errno = 2 Connection closed by foreign host. While the window used to launch the guest shows .... INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "c0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes port_accept : port_connection returned 2 Does anyone have this sort of setup working?
