Let me first state that i have always used the patches available from
http://www.user-mode-linux.org/~blaisorblade/patches/skas3-2.6/
In other words, i could have well done something wrong in getting the 
patch from the website (copy-paste)

Then i went into the dir /usr/src/linux-2.6.23.12 where i unzipped the 
archive file from the 2.6.23 kernel.
And issued the command as i normally do (and that succeeds with other 
skas patches)
patch -p1 --dry-run < ../skas-2.6.23.patch

As i said, this only fails with the patch i copy from the link posted here.
