IMO this defeats the purpose because it is difficult to modify; but it would
make for a good click-and-run appliance. I think (run.sh + kernel + fs.img) has
the elements for learning:
 * comes in one convenient package so download requires no thought
 * easy to run the first time
 * easy to modify which encourage customisations and greater understanding
 * if you break it, don't worry because you still have the tarball to start
again
