There's surely a chance, it must be done, and I've planned to do that too. The only problem is that, while there was some gross code in 2.6.4 patch, nobody has bothered yet to port it over. And the compatibility layer is very boring (which also means, difficult to get right, because you need to make the developers more careful than they'd be inclined to). And sadly, this is a short part of my TODO: - x86_64 32-bit support - SKAS4 - reorganize and merge HUMFS (the filehandle code needs work) - remap_file_pages - VCPU - something for the purposes of /dev/anon and, finally, the most time consuming things - cope with the bug reports, make sure patches get merged, port them across trees, - help users which don't read docs that well... and which fight with not so user-friendly tools, root_fs images (most require DevFS), and so on :-( > so at least I could try using an x86 > java on amd64. > > I.e. strace was showing no output or no output hinting the solution? > > No hints. I was referring to strace broken, but since that hasn't happened, we are just fine. -- Inform me of my mistakes, so I can keep imitating Homer Simpson's "Doh!".
