Can someone please clear up a misunderstanding of mine please?
In a webpage on kernel 2.6, (http://www.kniggit.net/wwol26.html) I read the following:
> Virtualizing Linux
>
> One of the most interesting new features in Linux 2.6 is its inclusion > of a "user-mode" architecture.
Does anyone know what is being referred to here? Does this mean that some of all of the UML code has been included in the stock 2.6 kernel? Does it mean I don't have to install UML if I'm using a 2.6 kernel? Alternatively, does this mean that stock 2.6 kernels have all the hooks in them to be a host/guest OS in UML? Or does it simply mean the author is mistaken?
Any clarification would be most welcome.
Cheers! Nik
