That can happen when the clock on the host goes forward / backward (for 
instance NTP) .... it was reported and discussed, and solved in 2.4.26-3um.

Btw, anyway, never use anything strictly between 2.4.24-1um and 2.4.26-3um... 
those versions have too many subtle bugs. .24-1, .26-3, .27-1 are good; and 
also 2.4.27-1bs (from my homepage) is good (to apply it you need two patches 
from the site, read well the instructions).

For security, the currently best version is 2.6.9-bb4, however if you run UML 
inside chroot or don't give access / services to the outside (which you 
should do anyhow), you don't have to fear the security problems a lot.
