Hi, Your case should be covered by app themes, definitely. I just upgraded the themes documentation, hopefully it clarifies a bit how they work, and what effect they have on Magnolia.
Maybe some paths are incorrect? In any case you should be able to see what happens in the browser dev tools too, e.g. if the stylesheet link element is either missing, leading to a 404, or if the class name is not appended correctly to the app div.
