Martin, you could configure init-parameters in web.xml for the main magnolia filter, and they should propagated to your filter (they'll actually be propagated to _all_ filters, so that might have unwanted side-effects). I was under the impression you could also configure them on a per-filter basis, but I can't recall how, if at all.
